Cord wanted to go camping. I didn't really.
So, we made a compromise. We made a reservation at Camp Dennis.
It's a nice camp in Liberty. We had heard great things about the Camp Hosts there...
Plus, there are excellent facilities: flush toilets, grass, running water, a refrigerator, hot tub...

They didn't even charge us an overnight use fee and they fixed us waffles. Nice.
So, Friday night, we packed up our outdoor gear and headed up to our camp.
We had a great dinner, sat by the fire, cooked some s'mallows, and enoyed the stars.

The kids played, and played, and played.
They built these cute little benches to sit on by the firepit.

We even had a few visitors come spend the eveing with us on our trip.
The kids (and Cord) all slept outside in tents.
Fun right?
They were very excited to get to sleep outside.
Notice all of the glowing seahorses? They are getting very popular these days...
After the kids fell asleep, the big kids got to relax in the hot tub.
It was quite nice to just sit and chat and enjoy the perfect fall evening.
I just had to put these pics of Gage in here because it was so fitting
that he was eating a banana, with that monkey on his jacket.
I cannot get enough of Gage right now.
He is so stinking cute!
It was so nice to be able to lay him down at his regular bedtime, in the house,
in a nice little crib. He was safe, warm, and not cranky the next day from lack of sleep!
(I slept inside in the spare bedroom with him.)
The kids woke up at the crack of dawn to sit in the hot tub.
(that was our agreement...that the adults got the night shift and the kids got the morning shift.)
After their soak, we had waffles with homemade raspberry jam. My fav.
Allison and Savana are so good to help take care of Lib and Nat.
It is like having two excellent babysitters along.
I keep telling them they can move to our house whenever they want. :)
So, our semi-camping trip was a big success.
I think we might have to make it a tradition!
And it was soooooooooo much less work than regular camping.
Way less. Way.
