So, the last week in June, my little brother Jake came into town. We made a whole bunch of plans and partied until we dropped. Cord was able to come for the first day, but then he went on a backpacking trip with Doug and Dax. So, he had his own fun while we had ours!
We started things off with a family Lagoon Day. The only time we have been to Lagoon as a family, was for a Belnap Family Reunion when Natalie was about 3 months old. So, it has been awhile! We seriously had the BEST DAY ever. Kiddie Land is huge now. They have added so many rides. We got crazy lucky and went on a day that was very slow. We hardly waited in any lines at all. Sometimes our kids were the only kids on the whole ride. What?! It was so awesome. The kids had a blast riding with their cousins. It was melting my heart to see how excited they were about everything.
Everyone was so good. My mom took Lib and Nat to Lagoon-A-Beach for awhile. They thought that was fantastic. Gage and Woody were the perfect ride partners. They were being so silly together. Even Ollie and Pepper got to sneak on a few rides. Ollie had to be rescued from the little boats, because he tried to climb out. I thought he was going to dive into the water. Ah! He is a little stinker. Libby went on a fast ride with Luke and was terrified. I had to ask the ride operator to stop the ride so she could get off. The poor girl was traumatized. Jack took her under his wing and they hit all the kiddie land rides together. It was adorable.
Cord came after work and joined us for a big birthday dinner for Shaye, Caden, and Jake. We all got soaked on Rattle Snake Rapids and the Log Ride! I sneaked off with the big kids for a bit and went on the "scary" rides like Wicked and the Colossus. It was fun to act like a youngster for a little while. :) Our children didn't want to leave. We were pretty much the last people to exit the park. Libby talked about it the entire drive home. It was a perfect day!
Friday, we headed over to Hill Air force Base to watch the Air Show. Holy MOLY! It was so awesome. Lorna had special access to the show because she works at the Fire Station so we got to attend on the dress rehearsal day. It was a bonus because it wasn't crowded at all. We got to park right at the entrance and had seats right on the flight line. I was blown away at how amazing the airplanes were. It was giving me the chills. The kids were totally entertained. Oliver sat in his stroller the whole time and pointed at the sky. It is so cute, because anytime he see's an airplane now, he gets all excited and points up. During the Thunderbirds, there was patriotic music playing. I felt so proud to be an American. It made me emotional. I am so glad we were able to go. So fun!
Saturday, we woke up early and headed over to Pleasant View for the parade! The cousin girl's got to be in the parade together. They looked so cute! It was fun to hang out with the family on the sidelines. Corey and Gage loved collecting candy! Afterward, I helped watch some of the little kids, while the big kids helped Jenn and Chad pack up their house. After the moving party was finished, we all cooled off in Rachelle's pool. It was nice and refreshing. They kids never get tired of swimming.
Sunday, was crazy because I woke up and realized that during the night our crazy man neighbor had tried to blow up the house across the street from us. What?!?!? Yes! He had laid a bunch of explosive material right by the gas meter on the side of their house and lit off a bunch of explosions. The whole North Ogden Police and Fire Department were in front of my house for hours, and I snoozed through the whole thing. I think it was a blessing, because I would have been freaked out and Cord was gone! AHH! Luckily, the crazy man's evil plan failed and he got arrested. Whew. He is going to be in jail for a long long time.
After church, we headed up to spend the afternoon at Ryan's house. The kids had a giant water gun fight--all the kids vs. Ryan. It was a lovely thing to watch. :) We had a nice dinner and went for a walk in the valley. Cord got home from his backpacking trip that night, so I headed home to give him a big big hug!
(That's Ryan on the trampoline...Getting surrounded!)
It was a great week of fun!

You're going to have to tell me more about this explosive story--that's crazy!! What a busy, fun couple of weeks!
Ah Summer! No rest for the weary :) Sounds like a lot of fun stuff. Wish we would have come to the air show, but we left for East Canyon that day. There's always next year. We haven't been to Lagoon since the Belnap reunion either. The girls can't wait to play tomorrow!!! :)
