Easter EGG-stravaganzia!

Wednesday, we headed up to Irvine Regional Park to participate in the Easter Eggstraviganzia.  We visited the Irvine Park Railroad a few years ago on our way into Manhattan Beach.  You can see pictures here.  We had a great time at their Pumpkin Festival so we knew we would like their Easter Celebration as well.  Irvine Regional Park is a huge park.  There are acres of grass with picnicking spots, several playgrounds, giant old trees, a lake with paddle boats, a biking path with all sorts of bike rentals, and of course, the Train Station!

We bought a ticket booklet so the kids could play all of the carnival games.  They loved winning prizes.  

After the games, it was our turn to do an easter egg hunt.  A section of the park was sectioned off for the hunt.  The ground was covered in candy and each hunter could also pick up 8 eggs.  Libby was smart and gathered candy first.  She had a whole bucket full that she shared with the rest of the kids.  Natalie was adorable and helped Ollie find his treasures.  The eggs were filled with stickers and treats.  Libby got a special prize!  She won a free Paddle Bike rental to use at the lake.  We were excited to give it a try.

They all got plenty of goodies.  Oliver couldn't be bothered by a picture.  He wanted to eat his treats!

We got tickets to ride the train.  It is a 13 minute train ride through the park.  We saw some peacocks.  They were beautiful.  It is a fun little ride for sure!

After our train ride, we walked over to the lake to redeem Libby's awesome prize.  We took turns riding around the lake on the floating tricycles.  It was really fun.  The scenery was beautiful, the weather perfect, and the company the best!

We had a very EGGcellent day at the Irvine Regional Park.

Of course, we went back to the hotel afterwards to have dinner and SWIM.
