This summer Cord has some extra time off work. The Government is calling it a "Furlough." He gets to take one day a week off without pay for the next 11 weeks. He will alternate between a 3-day work week and a 4-day work week. Even though we will be making a lot less cash-ola, we've decided to make the most of it! We love it when Cord gets to join us on our adventures. So, we have been busy.
Thursday, we went boating with Grandpa Belnap. We did some boating around the lake and then played on the sand for awhile. Libbers doesn't really like being on the water. The up and down of the waves makes her super nervous, so, Ollie, and I stayed on the beach with her while the rest went for another ride. Then--we had a nice little picnic snack at the clubhouse! Poor little Gagey-Boy got sick on the way home and threw up in the car. Luckily, we had a barf bag in the glove box left over from when he got his tonsils out. So, we were able to prevent a nasty mess. :) Eeeewwwe.
Friday, was hot, hot, hot, so we went out to swim at Rachelle's pool. We feel so lucky to have such a beautiful, clean, fun pool to swim in whenever we want. The kids and I go swimming at least three times a week. It is the only way to beat this record breaking hot summer heat! My mom is always willing to take us over there.
Saturday, we woke up and headed over to the Dinosaur Park. It was a FREE entry day, so we figured we would take advantage of the opportunity. We got there early. There was still a coolish breeze blowing down the canyon. It was so nice. Gage loved the dinosaurs! It was the perfect place for him to enjoy and explore. It really is a neat place for kids! Each of the kids picked out a tiny dinosaur at the gift shop to play with on our way out.
We had a little scare with baby Oliver on Sunday afternoon. He was sleeping on our bed and Gage must have covered him up with our down comforter. We didn't know. I didn't think to check on him because I figured I would hear him when he woke up. Luckily, Cord went into our room and noticed that Oliver was missing. He then realized that he wasn't missing, he was just being smothered! The poor little baby was super sweaty and delirious from crying under the covers. He wouldn't keep his eyes open and he wasn't focusing or smiling or anything. We ran him down to the instacare to make sure that everything was fine. I was scared that he wasn't responding well and thought he might need some oxygen. EEK! Luckily, everything checked out fine. We were so so grateful that Cord found him when he did. We just love our little boy so much! Gage got a nice little talking-to about not putting blankets on Oliver. He felt bad.
After things settled down with baby Oliver, we headed up to Ryan's house to play. He had a few big bouncy
water toys in the yard and he invited the kids up to use them. They had
fun sliding and splashing, but I think they liked soaking in the hot
tub more. We had dinner and enjoyed the Summer evening playing games on the porch.
It seems like every day has something fun to offer. I love it!
(I am going to put pics in later!)
