My little "Elsa" Girl is SIX

We decided to go FROZEN this February for Nat's Birthday!

Natalie has been asking to have an Ice Skating party since Cord took the girls skating last summer.  She hasn't forgotten!  The movie Frozen is pretty popular right now.  (And when I say popular I mean you can't buy any Frozen things at the store because they are totally sold out!) We combined the two and make an Ice Skating Frozen Party!

My mom and I designed this Elsa dress and we snapped some pictures of her while we were visiting the ice castles in January.  It was the perfect place for Natalie (ELSA) to put her icy powers to work.

 

 

On the day of the party, I took the little boys to my parent's church to set up and decorate while Cord took the girl's ice skating.  They met some of their cousins at the Ice Sheet.  It sounds like everyone was a little bit shaky on their feet at first, but by the end they seemed to get the hang of it!

We decided to have a Frosty Wintery Frozen party like you would expect, but then we also Brought Back Summer and had some Summer fun as well!  We figured Olaf would approve!  Half of the room was decorated with Winter colors and all things Frozen and the other half was Bright and Summery!

After we ate our snacks, the kids all got together to play some games.  We started with the winter games!  Each of the kids got a little piece of round or square glass.  We put on some sticky vinyl snowflakes and then covered them with etching cream.  The etching cream worked it's magic on the glass and imprinted the snowflake image.   

 

 

After the glass was etched, we built ice castles out of clay to go on top. 

  

 

 

Our other Winter party game was the Build an Olaf Dice Game.  Do you want to build a snowman?  The kids did!  The game is easy.  You roll the dice and build the piece of Olaf that showed up on the side of the dice.  If you roll the "sun" Olaf melts and you have to start over!  The first one to get all of their Olaf pieces built, wins.  

The winners got a few of these party poppers. 

Then they "Let it Go" and popped out the confetti and streamers all over the gym...

After the Winter Games were complete, we decided to go ahead and Bring Back Summer!  I made this Olaf Basketball Hoop and the kids lined up and shot tiny beach balls at Olaf.  When they made it into the hoop they got to pick a prize.

Next, Natalie opened her presents!  YAY!  Cord and I got her a parachute--like the kind you play with at gym class.  The kids all gathered around the edges and we put the beach balls on top.  They popped the balls into the air, rolled them across the top and dropped them on the ground!  It was crazy. 

I think that my cute little Natalie Bug had a great time at her party.  She felt special that so many of her cousins were able to celebrate with her.  She loved all her party games and the gifts she got!  We are so lucky to have such supportive family.

And we had so much FROZEN FUN!

 

 

 

 Natalie is such a joy to have in our home.  She is funny.  She is always ready and willing to give big tight squeeze hugs and loves to cuddle.  She is social.  She is friends with everyone in her class at school and wants to play at someone's house almost every day.  She is an adorable dancer.  She is smart so it is easy for her to learn dance steps and memorize sequences.  Her smile is contagious.  She is starting to figure out the concept of putting sounds together to form words.  It took her awhile to grasp, but now she is ready to read!  She is excellent at riding her bike.  She loves to play with Oliver and carries him around the house...even when I say to put him down!  She likes to sneak under Libby's bed and watch the iPad.  If I ever need to find Natty, I look there first.  She still thinks she is going to marry her cousin Ben.  

I love her so much.  She is my tiny one.
