My cute little baby boy turned two on Saturday!
He is the perfect age right now:
- He says adorable phrases in his tiny voice.
- He loves to play with his siblings--especially Gage. Ollie does everything Gage does.
- He wrestles with daddy. Right when Cord comes in the door after work, Oliver wants to play chase.
- He takes good care of his stuffed animal babies. His favorite are his tiny blue dinosaur and his white tiger.
- He insists on riding his scoot bike when the other kids get on their bikes. It is adorable to watch him try to scoot around. He isn't quite tall enough yet to do it right, but he doesn't mind.
- He gives kisses with is tiny puckered lips.
- He can set up his train tracks all by himself. He says, "Choo Choo" the whole time he pushes his trains along.
- He loves dinosaurs! We go on expeditions to the dinosaur park and he says, "Dinosaur...EAT YOU!" and then laughs and laughs.
- His favorite cartoon is Micky Mouse.
- When he wants me to pick him up he says, "Hold you."
- He can eat an entire box of popsicles in one day!
- I can't take his bottle away yet because he gets so excited when he sees them it breaks my heart to think of taking it away. He jumps up and down and laughs and smiles. It is the cutest!
- He loves to swing in his dolphin swing in the backyard. We have to take turns pushing him so someone doesn't have to stand there for an hour.
- Oliver is amazing at puzzles. He knows what piece fits in each spot immediately after he picks it up. Even if the puzzle shape is upside down or backwards. He can tell where it goes right away. It is fun to do all sorts of puzzles with him.
Oliver has been an absolute joy these past two years. We all love him so much. He is always going to be my baby!
For his birthday, we had a combined celebration with Natalie and Kayla! Natalie wanted to have a dance party, so that is what we planned. We reserved the dance studio for Saturday night. We invited our family and a few friends to join us for the party.
On the day of the event, we decorated the studio with a bunch of tiny tables covered in silver sparkly linens. Dax brought all of his karaoke gear and we set up the sound equipment. We bought floating balloons and made tasty food. I was really happy with how everything turned out! It felt very festive.
During the party, we played all sorts of fun dance games on the main level of the studio. We played Freeze Dance, Duck Duck Goose, Little Sally Walker, did the Limbo. It was hilarious to see the adults participating as well. Corey was one of the best at the Limbo, and my Dad was so funny doing Little Sally Walker. The kids ran around and did tumbling and played cheerleader with the pom poms.
Upstairs, Dax kept things going with karaoke. Everyone who felt like showing off had a chance to entertain us. It was awesome. Dax rapped some Vanilla Ice as we all did our best break dancing moves, Cindee and I performed What Does the Fox say! It was pretty funny. Cord and Libby sang a duet from the Frozen movie that melted my heart! It was adorable. Ryan favored us with The Devil Went Down to Georgia and we all had a hoe down! Matt was killing it with his professional entertaining skills. All the little kids and big kids sang and laughed and enjoyed the microphones!
Here is a little piece of Libby and Cord's version of Love is an Open Door...
We had cupcakes and sang to the birthday kids! I made Wolf Cupcakes because Kayla is very excited about all things wolf right now. Gage and Natalie thought they were awesome too! Lorna gave me a cake decorating kit for Christmas, so I figured I better get using it! :) It was fun making them.
We had nachos and other party snacks to refuel after all the dancing and playing. Gifts were given and many happy memories made! We finished the night with an adult dance party upstairs! Camber, Monica, Jenn, Rachelle, Brooke, and I did the Boot Scootin' Boogie, Electric Slide, the Margarina and the YMCA. It was awesome. I was seriously beat! It was great to see everyone up and moving and having fun together.
It was a beautiful party for my cute little Natty and Oliver. I know they both had a wonderful evening with the people they love and who love them! We are so lucky to have such close families and cousins to celebrate with.
Cindee is taking birthday pictures of Ollie and Natalie next week. I am so excited to get them! Happy Birthday Ollie boy. More for my little Natalie (who turns 7 tomorrow!) to come...
